We help young people think critically and act creatively with AI — so they use it with purpose, question what it tells them, and create projects that are unmistakably their own.
Understand how AI works, where it gets things wrong, and when not to trust it. Ask better questions and judge the answers.
Use AI as a tool to make, build and express ideas — with the young person's intention at the centre, not the machine's.
Three early ideas we are testing with schools and youth organisations during our pilot.
How AI learns from data, where bias creeps in, and how to test its answers. Students build a critical eye for AI.
Using AI to boost the career journey: pinpointing your unique strengths and presenting them with confidence.
AI and the use of resources: the environmental impact behind every prompt, and how to use it thoughtfully.
AI literacy that starts with people, keeps them safe and builds critical, creative thinkers.
Grounded in the Council of Europe's AI literacy framework and its focus on the human dimension of AI literacy.
We control how students engage with AI, so their data is not freely given to commercial chatbots. Safeguarding always comes first.
Good prompts come from good thinking. Students learn to frame problems, weigh answers and decide what to do next.
Delivered in person, because the best learning happens through conversation, not another screen.
Join our pilot and bring AI literacy to your students at no cost. Choose the format that fits your organisation, and help us shape the programme as it grows.
Our sessions are designed for students aged 14 to 20.
High-impact, assembly-style inspirational talk for large cohorts.
Challenges students' passive habits and opens up critical questions about their digital future.
Small-group, case study-based sessions.
Equips students to execute real-world tasks using AI as a critical co-pilot.
Deep-dive, multi-session project-based learning.
Students define a challenge and develop a unique solution. They build a project from scratch: driven by their own vision, guided by us, and accelerated by AI.
Critically Creative exists to open doors. Capable graduates are finding it hard to land a first job, while most schools can afford little more than an online course to prepare students for a world shaped by AI. We want to change both.
In a world where so much is invested in technology, we choose to invest in people: graduates who bring fresh expertise into the classroom, and students who learn to use AI with purpose.
With the support of schools, partners and funders who share this ambition, we are building a not-for-profit initiative with the aim of becoming a registered charity.
Critically Creative began with a simple belief: AI should amplify what makes each young person unique.
We are a small team who care deeply about young people’s futures, and we are passionate about helping them meet this technology with curiosity, confidence and a critical eye. We run these sessions because we love the conversations they spark.
We are Mark Edgington and Paula Leguísamo. Mark is the founder of Incendiary Blue, with 30 years in technology and a background in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, and he guides our growth and partnerships. Paula is a philosophy teacher who has taught young people of very different backgrounds, from international schools to not-for-profits, and she leads our curriculum and pedagogy.
We met on the MA in Education and Technology at UCL, and a shared interest in how young people use AI became the idea behind Critically Creative.
Teachers, youth organisations and partners: join us in giving young people the skills to use AI with purpose.
